Answered Prayers

Hello all!

SOoooo much has happened since my last post! The last three weeks have gone by in a whirlwind! Here are the highlights:

We looked at a house in Tifton, prior to going to Atlanta to see my precious neice. WE LOOOOVED it and claimed it!

We went to atlanta- had a blast and get to see that little girl I call Caroline!

We came to Tifton and immediately started moving stuff from Tifton, Hazlehurst and Macon. It took A full week and three 12 foot trailors and 4 truck loads and 4 packed cars to get all the stuff here.

The next week. . . . . FRIDAY the 30 rolls around and I hear about a job opening. I FLY to the school and drop off my resume. Before I could even get home, I was called for an interview. Once home I found out that there were 150 applicants- needless to say I did not have much hope.

MONDAY had an interview at 9:30 and got a call at about 2:45 . . . . . THAT I HAD GOTTEN A JOB AS A FIFTH GRADE TEACHER! All prayers were answered. GOD IS AMAZING!

I have the most amazing job at a great school and even greater co-workers! I couldn't have asked for a better school and I'm so thankful for the opportunity.

I think this about sums up the last few weeks. Molly Jane has grown sooo much. Had to go buy some new shoes this afternoon because she has eaten four pairs of mine. I know I know put them up high- well evidently she can climb. SOOOOOO. She's eating us out of house and home.

I am really going to try and update more. I just don't leave the school until 8 and i'm there by 7, sooooo. My time is just limited right now!

Hope to catch up on lots of blogs this week. Cannot wait to read all about it =)

We're moving, we're moving!

Hello all,

Last week my mom found us the most precious house! She's taken bunches of pictures and we are in love with it! The house is not even a whole block away from my mom. It has hardwood floors all the way through and tile in the kitchen and bathroom. It is soo precious! It's a little pricier than we wanted. However, its worth it being in the middle of town and so close to my mom. We are so excited! We are set to move at the end of this month =).

School is going great and so unbelievably hard. It's just three times the amount of reading than i'm use too. Its not really hard it's just soooo much! But, oh well we are all doing great so we will keep on with it i guess =)!
I can't believe this is the third thing i'm writing about, but we found the most precious little thing on Friday night and we decided we had to keep her instantly. She is absolutely the cutest thing EVER! WE named her Molly Jane. We think she's part rottweiler and part something else. Here she is, we hid her in my pocket book so that we could take her into walmart to get all of her goodies. She is still a baby baby.

We were up almost all night friday the only part of the night Saturday night. She's doing great wtih the other animals though. But, it is a good thing we're moving b/c we have officially outgrown this apartment!

We are heading to ATL this weekend to see Rob's brother and his family. Most importantly their precious little baby, Caroline! She is soo cute!

Hope everyone has a great week!

It's Independence Day!

It's Independence Day! Everytime I hear that phrase I think of the Martina McBride song, Independence Day. AHhh great song!

So I went to Tallahassee on a job hunt and came back more frustrated than before if that is possible. However, I am a lot calmer about the situation the more that I think about it and pray about it. As I mentioned in my previous post, my Mom and I both started our Masters this week. The work load for this is beyond what I thought it would be. I just feel like Tifton is where we need to be. It is where we always intended to end up and despite the rocky business of not having a teaching job. We feel we just need to head on down.

My masters program is proving that it will be alot of work. However, I'm so excited to be doing it with mama and the other girls I graduated with. Most of us are in the same class and it is so much easier doing it with someone you know and having that support system.

So I guess it's about that time to move. We have to find an apartment/house to rent in T-town soon. Like within the next three weeks! So if anyone knows of anything please let me know asap!

Tomorrow we are going to celebrate Rob's dad's 65th Birthday! It should be an afternoon with good food and great family time. However, we will have to come home and finish homework for the week. Ahhhh, two students in the house is waaay to much =)!

I hope everyone has a safe and happy fourth of july! It's days like these that I miss Aunt Marolyn the most. It seems odd that we aren't all heading to the lake to celebrate. It's so hard and weird how things have changed. Cherish the time you have with your friends and family, you never know how long you have with them.

It's here! Time to enter a new chapter =)

It is almost JULY! Where has the summer already gone?! I can't believe it's going by so fast. But I'm kind of excited too!

Lots of things have happened, I mentioned earlier about the problems with the school I graduated from and my teacher certification process. We'll it's just been a giant mess. Someone on facebook said earlier, it's amazing what the possibility of being sued will do to someone. Long story short my certification papers were turned in yesterday afternoon and I was certified by this morning.

With certification came my admission into my master's program! I am so excited! I start Monday! After thirty years of teaching, my mom thought now was as good as time as any to finish hers. So she will start the program with me. I think this will be a great experience for us to do together.

Rob is in a wedding this weekend. It should be fun for him. It's one of his friends and coworkers. I on the other hand know not a sole so it will be quite interesting.

Stay cool,

Heat Wave!

Talking about a heat wave, the south is about to heat to DEATH! Just looked at weather.com and for our town it says it is 99 and the heat index is at 109! The heat is unbearable! I am someone that is addicted to the outdoors and the sunshine. Bring it on! However, it is just TOO hot with the humidity that us Georgia people are blessed with!

Despite the recent rant on my suffering with the heat, I was drawn to blog today after caring for our four year old pit that is an outside dog! I use to work at a vet clinic, have six dogs between mine and mine at moms, and just genuinely love all animals. So with all that being said, I am disappointed with the care I have given "Beast" the past few days! The heat I listed for today is just today's, it's been like this for a few days.

Yesterday when I went outside to layout I checked on beast first. Sometime in the three hours since Rob had given him fresh water annnnnd food. Beast had drank all of his water and started digging a huge hole trying to get out of the pen and get to water. Naturally, this situation made me aware of the unforgiving heat. I immediately let him out of his pen and on the runner, which allows him to head to the edge of the woods and get more shade and began to be more conscious about refreshing his water.

Today, I started the day out with a mission. I let beast on his runner first thing this am and set a goal to refresh his water ever two hours. However, I went out after just a measly 45 min and his water was scalding. Therefore, I have now started putting ice in his water.

I know that it is not possible for alot of people to be on hand and refresh water for their outside animals this quick. However, as somewhat of a plea if anyone reads this please try your best even get your kids involved to refresh your animals water in the heat as often as possible.

Thanks for listening to my little rant. I hope it brought some attention to these problems. =)

It's a waiting game . . . .

It's almost the weeeeekend!!!!

I know that everyone is excited that it's the weekend, but I have my own reasons. I'm going STIRCRAZY sitting here all week waiting to hear about jobs and to start my masters. I feel sooo unproductive it's ridiculous.

However, I have all of the necessary paperwork filled out to apply to work in Tallahassee. So I have done something! I also have all of my paperwork and almost all of mamas done to start our masters program June 28! This will give me something to do to pass the time until I hopefully get a job!

We came home from tally last weekend to a huge mess. Rob's roommate who is never here and hasn't paid rent had was at his house the entire time we were gone. This do not go over well, At ALL. Mainly because people who we didn't know were at the house with all of our belongings. I know your thinking well if Rob's friends with him surely you trust the people the guy would bring around. WEllll, in a perfect world yes. WE looooove the guys family so we've tried to be really nice and uunderstanding, but its just getting out of control! It's just a really big mess and all of our belongings are in that apartment. And we can't afford to replace anything- so we are really looking forward to moving on and gettiing out of here!

Rob is really excited about the possibility of moving to Tally. I on the other hand do not want to be that far from my mom so I'm still holding out hope for home. It's a prayer everyday and if anyone can do it it's my GOD!

WEdding plans are going. We kind of thought by doing a destination wedding we could keep it small . . . . hah, it's not looking that way.

Until next time, I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!

Hello All,
I technically didn't make it for my weekly blog-but I tried. It's been a super hectic week of hospitals, job applications, wedidng planning and graduations.

My fingers are slowly on the mend. You never know how reliant you are on your fingers till you break two. It was definitley no goooood. We took the tape off on Monday and you could actually feel the breaks. Gross to some but toooottally cool to me =)!

My brother william has chrons disease, acid reflux and ulcers in the small intestines. William is at least six foot two and in the last year has gotten down to a meesly 120 pounds. He loooks sooooo bad. Well after a week of unbearable pain the doctor finally told him to go to the hospital. So, after the hospital visit, a couple thousand dollars, three bags of ivs, and two prescriptions we found out he had a kidney infection as well. His health is slowly getting worse and I feel so bad for him. He use to be a very social 21 year old and now he hardly ever leaves the house. So, I said all of this to ask for some prayers. The medical bills are getting outrageous and with mama already working three jobs I don't know how she's going to handle it. And we just want his pain to be manageable.

Wedding planning- we have decided to get married on a cruise ship. Having to plan and pay for a wedding by ourselves was getting overwhelming and this way everyone gets a vacation. I'm finally getting excited about it.

Job Search--I have broadened the job hunt to Tallahassee Florida. My cousin lives there, I spent a MANY of summers here and I just need a job. I would have to get certified in the state of Florida but i would have a year for that. So shoot some prayers up for that!

We ended the week going to my cousin Alex's graduation. It was kind of bitter sweet without Aunt Marolyn (alex's grandmother). However, I know she was beaming up in Heaven and I'm sure she could hear us cheering up there =).

I hope everyone has an amazing week and enjoys these gorgeous summer days!

Disappointments

Hello all,

Well I barely made my weekly goal! It has been a long horrible week. Last thursday was my birthday, but it was a big birthday 25. It just made me feel old. Then on Friday, Rob and I were moving a bed frame and he let go of his side. Well, the outcome of this was two broken fingers for Catherine. My fingers basically got scissored between two things of iron. So needless to say that didn't start the week off great.

Then Wednesday I finally made an appointment to speak with the head of human services at our local Board of Education office to figure out why I was not being called for formal interviews. Well, the man tells me that my college has not turned in any of my certification papers--therefore, all of the principals think that I am from out of state. The head of human resources told me point blank that principals weren't even going to consider me when there were so many people available locally- HELLLO! Meeeeee!! He out right said that I could thank my college for not having any interviews and missing the opportunity to apply to six jobs in our town. Needless to say, I was devastated! So, with all of this being said. I have given up the hope of teaching next year. I will sub and have even booked a maturnity leave already. Which is great news!

Please pray that the next week will bring better news! This all has really hit Rob and I hard. Hope everyone has an amazing long weekend!

This never ending process. . . .

Hello All,
This week is my birthday. WOO HOO, not. I think I've officially reached the age when I'm too old to celebrate. Say what you want, but I think that 25 is a big year. There are so many things that I wanted to accomplish by 25 that I have not done. However, I am on the right track =).

Right now my life consists of handing out resumes, begging for interviews and more importantly a JOB! I'm soooooo sick of selling myself. I feel like if I say I'm dual certified one more time i'll keel over and die. Exageration- maybe, but its getting so old! I'm going tomorrow- ON my birthday to pass out more resumes. Seriously, this is what life has come to.

For the past few weekends I've been working diligently with my mother to complete one of her yards, my mom is a teacher with a landscaping business, because it was featured in a garden tour. The garden tour, Paws N Claws in the Garden, was put on to raise money for the local animal shelter. There were seven gardens on the tour and a dog at each site. To my knowledge every dog at the sites got adopted on Saturday and they raised a good bit of money for the animal shelter! So it was a double whammy!

Summer is officially here and all I want is a JOB! Hope to have some good news of one on the next post =)! I'm at least trying to stay positive, despite my tired attitude!
Have an amazing week!

College Graduate

Keeping up with this blog is proving more difficult than I thought! But, I'm really going to try =).

On Friday, May 7 I along with 75 of my fellow education classmates graduated! It was the best feeling in the whole world knowing that chapter of my life was done. I didn't get quite as emotional until we were walking out and I realized that I wouldn't be seeing these people again on a regular basis. Thank the Lord for facebook and the knowing that most everyone is on there =). After graduation, we all went out to eat at a restaurant called Molly's. It was so much fun! So many people came, most importantly sweet Lucy and all of Rob's family. It meant so much to me to have so many amazing friends and family to support me, because without each of them I wouldn't have made it.

The last few days I've almost reached the point of WHAT NOW?! Jobs for teachers are seemingly sparse and I'm super worried I won't find one. However, I keep passing out resumes in hopes of something coming through. I start my masters on June 28th. While some might think I'm crazy, I just want all of my schooling done before my future children arrive in this world so all my attention can be on them.

I am actually attempting to plan a wedding also. However, with rob and I paying for it ourselves I am getting more and more discouraged. Therefore, I'm looking for a summer job to help foot some of the costs. We've narrowed it down to three places now to decide on one!

I've enjoyed seeing so many familiar faces on here and meeting some new ones. I just wish I had more time for this stuff =)!

Until next time,

Catherine Grace

Giving it a shot

This is my first attempt at a modernized blog. I use to have the xanga and did pretty well with it for a while, so hopefully I'll do ok. As I embark on a lot of new chapters in my life, I felt it was important to document some of them. Over the next few months I will graduate from college, move back to Tifton, get married, and HOPEFULLY start my first year teaching. These are huge things that I definitely want to remember in detail.

Our first graduation is tomorrow for the School of Education. I cannot wait. I've waited soooooo long for this! There are so many people that supported me and made it all possible.

Before I go, I want to thank Cristin, her new business is Creative Creations by Cristin, for my amazing blog setup. I waitressed with her ages ago and despite her hectic new life she helped me out!

-always-
